College Research Project

Create a PowerPoint presentation or a poster that promotes a computer-related major at a college or university such as computer science (CS), information science technology (IST), or computer engineering. It must list the required courses that a student would have to complete in the program but it must highlight one or more of the courses that you find particularly interesting. Your project must also highlight one or more professors in the department by detailing his or her research interests or other contributions to the program. Any other highlights of the major or the college that relate to the major should be included (e.g. internship offerings, computer hardware used at the college, relevant dual degree programs, etc). However, general highlights of the college itself should not be the focus of your project. The project must grab the interest of a prospective applicant to the college who is interested in this field of study. The project should be able to serve as an information and recruiting tool for a college admissions officer. The prestige, reputation, or popularity of the college will not factor into your grade for this assignment. Follow these tips if you create a PowerPoint presentation. If you create a poster, your name must be printed on the back of the poster. If you create a PowerPoint file, you must submit the file on a floppy disk or CD or turn in a paper with the exact location of the file in your network folder.
